Grandparents & Special Adult Day

Volunteer for this NDA event where students invite their grandparents (or a special friend/relative) to visit the school and classroom, meet their teachers, and gather in church for a prayer service and choir performance. Because of such strong attendance from grandparents/special friends, parents are only able to attend the event as volunteers (unless they are the special friend for the student).

There is a need for a parent or two to take on the role of chair/co-chair of the event.

Many other volunteer options are available, including set up the evening before, greeters/ushers, servers of snacks/beverages and clean-up crew.

Chair-Managing parent(s) of event, responsible for communicating with NDA front office regarding format of event, invitations to guests, registration of guests, logistics of event, and attend event. Vol. time is 20 hours - planning starts in September.

Co Chair-Managing parent(s) of event, responsible for communicating with NDA front office regarding format of event, invitations to guests, registration of guests, logistics of event, and attend event. Vol. time is 20 hours - planning starts in September.

Planning Team- Support Chair or Co-Chair of Event and attend the event to fill in where needed - approximately 6-8 hours of volunteer time (Available: 4)

Set up Crew-Set up chairs, tables, etc. the evening before the event 11/5 from 5 pm to 7 pm, estimated 2-3 hours of volunteer time (Available: 6)

Registration/Greeters/Ushers/Guest Assistance- Assist with registration & greeting guests, helping with nametags, ushering to church or classrooms, answering general questions. Estimated 3-4 hours of volunteer time. (Available: 11)

Photographer- Must have nice camera/photography skills to take photos at booths. Approximately 2-3 hours of volunteer time. (Available: 2)

Beverages/Snacks/Dessert- Obtain water, snacks, and dessert and assist with coffee or hot beverages to be available to guests. Estimated 3-4 hours of volunteer time.

Event Clean-up Crew Put tables/chairs back, and tidy up after the event ends. Estimated 2-3 hours of volunteer time. (Available: 5)
