Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 2026
Grasshopper Signup LLC ("we", "us") operates grasshoppersignup.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it.
Data Controller
The data controller is Grasshopper Signup LLC, United States. For privacy-related inquiries, please contact us.
What We Collect and Why
We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the service. The legal basis for each type of processing is noted below.
- Account registration (email address, and a password hash if you choose password login; magic link and Google/Microsoft login options are also available and do not store a password) - necessary to perform the contract with you as an account holder.
- Form responses (name, email, selections, comments submitted by respondents) - necessary to perform the service; form creators are responsible for the data they collect from respondents.
- Payment information (billing details, subscription status) - necessary to perform the contract and comply with financial record-keeping obligations. Card details are processed directly by Stripe and never stored by us.
- Service communications (transactional emails, reminders, notifications) - necessary to perform the contract.
- Error and performance data (anonymized crash reports, usage analytics) - legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the service.
- Google Calendar data - only if you connect your Google Calendar as a premium feature. We create, update, or delete calendar events for your signups only. We do not read existing events or use calendar data for any other purpose. You can revoke access at any time via Google Account settings or your Grasshopper account.
- SMS reminders - only with your explicit opt-in consent on a per-form basis. Consent can be revoked at any time by replying STOP.
How Long We Keep Your Data
- Account data - retained until you delete your account.
- Form data and responses - retained until you delete the form or your account.
- Payment records - retained for 7 years to comply with financial and tax obligations.
- Error logs - retained for 30 days on a rolling basis.
Third-Party Data Processors
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the following processors who act on our behalf:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) - database and file storage (United States)
- Postmark - transactional email delivery (United States)
- Stripe - payment processing (United States)
- Cloudflare - CDN, DDoS protection, and DNS (United States)
- Sentry - error tracking and crash reporting (United States)
International Data Transfers
All processors listed above are based in the United States. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, your data is transferred to the US. These transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
Cookies and Analytics
We use session cookies necessary for authentication and security. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or track you across other sites.
Your Rights
If you are in the EEA, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar privacy laws, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example, the ICO in the UK, or your national supervisory authority in the EU).
Respondent Awareness
When you submit a response to a form, your name, email, and selections are stored and visible to the form creator and anyone they share access with. You can contact the form creator to request removal of your response, or contact us if the creator is unresponsive.
Security
We follow industry best practices for data security. No online system can guarantee 100% security, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data.
This policy reflects our current practices and will be updated as needed. Material changes will be noted with a revised effective date.

Refunds will not be issued for any reason, including but not limited to: service downtime or outages, bugs or technical issues, dissatisfaction with features, unused subscription time, or changes to the Service. You are paying for access to an actively developed service, not a guarantee of specific functionality or availability.
