How to Send Signups to a Superhuman Docs Table

Add each new signup as a row in a Superhuman Docs (formerly Coda) table using a webhook and an API token with Read and write permission.

Send Each New Signup to Superhuman Docs

Superhuman Docs (formerly Coda) can add a row to a table every time someone signs up on your form. You set up a webhook rule in Superhuman, then paste its address and an API token into your form. The token must have Read and write permission: Superhuman starts new tokens on Read only, and a read-only token can't add rows.

Step 1: Make the table in Superhuman

In your Superhuman doc, add a table with a column for each detail you want, for example Name, Email and Option.

Step 2: Create a webhook rule

Open the doc's … menu, choose Doc settings, then Automations and Add rule. Under When, pick Webhook invoked and click Copy URL.

Step 3: Create a Read and write API token

Right below the URL, click Create API token. Give it a name and change Permission from Read only to Read and write, then create it and copy the token.

Step 4: Tell the rule where each detail goes

Under Then, choose Add row and your table. Under Set values, pick a column and in its value box type a formula like =ParseJSON(Step 1 Result, "$.name") (choose Step 1 Result from the list as you type). Use $.email for the email and $.selection for the option they picked. $.comment, $.quantity, $.timestamp and $.form_title are there too. Click Add column for each one. Switch the rule On at the top.

Step 5: Connect your form

From your Dashboard, click Options on the form's card. In the Webhook Integration card, turn on Enable Webhook and paste the URL. A Superhuman API token box appears: paste the token there and click Save.

Step 6: Send a test

Click Test Webhook. A row for "Test Person" should appear in your Superhuman table within a few seconds. If it says the token can't add rows, create a new token with Read and write permission (Step 3), paste it and click Save again.

What changes

  • New signups only. When someone edits or cancels a signup, the row in Superhuman stays as it was, like Google Sheets sync.
  • Superhuman's monthly limit applies. On Superhuman's free plan a doc can run 100 event-based automations a month (500 on Pro), so about 100 signups.
  • Your token is stored encrypted and never shown again. Copying or duplicating the form doesn't copy it.
