How to Limit the Number of Selections per Response

Set a maximum number of options each respondent can select when multiple selections are allowed.

Limit How Many Options Each Person Can Pick

When you let respondents choose more than one option, you can cap how many they're allowed to select - for example, "pick up to 3 time slots." This keeps any one person from signing up for everything and leaves room for others.

Step 1: Open your form's Edit page

Go to your Dashboard and click Edit on the form's card.

Step 2: Turn on Allow multiple selections

In Section 2: Signup Options, enable the Allow multiple selections toggle. The maximum setting only appears once multiple selections are allowed.

Step 3: Set the maximum

In the Max selections per response (optional) field that appears, enter the most options a single person may pick (minimum 2). Leave it blank for unlimited selections.

Step 4: Save your form

Save your changes. The limit takes effect immediately on the live form.

What respondents see

Once a respondent reaches the limit, the remaining options dim and can't be selected, and a message appears: "You've selected the maximum of N options. To select a different option, uncheck one first." If a submission somehow exceeds the limit, the form blocks it and shows "You can only select up to N options. Please adjust your selections."
