Spring Celebration: Sounds of Spring Volunteering

Please sign up for a volunteer role to help make our Spring Celebration a success. When you arrive to volunteer, sign in. FREE PIZZA for all volunteers on Sunday during volunteer orientation. Second shift volunteers can choose to come early for the orientation or simply check in when they arrive before their shift. The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m.

    Love preparing for events? Join in the fun of setting up stations by helping organize supplies, moving tables, and making sure all stations are ready for visitors!

    Are you energetic and outgoing? Be the first face our Celebration attendees see! Trail Entrance Greeters are posted at several entrances to the event. You will hand out Celebration Maps and Scavenger Hunts, count new visitors with a clicker, and accept donations. Should be comfortable interacting with the public and being outside. Dress for the weather.

    Do you enjoy the campfire and marshmallow combination? Help us keep an eye on the campfire and serve s'mores during the celebration. Should be comfortable with crowds and interacting with the public. Put out the campfire at the end of the event. Dress for the weather.

    Help kids complete thematic crafts. Should be comfortable with crowds, interacting with children, and leading activities. Directions will be provided. Dress for the weather.

    Facilitate hands-on Education Stations during the Celebration. Should be comfortable with crowds, talking to children, and leading hands-on activities. Directions will be provided. Dress for the weather.

    Are you an artist that loves to see a smile on a child's face? Face painters will be provided with materials and image references. Should be comfortable with crowds and interacting with children.

    Manage parking in the visitor center lot. Reserve spots for people with handicap stickers/mobility needs and families with very young children. Direct other visitors to park on North Point Drive, Michigan Ave., and Maria Drive. Dress for the weather.

    Make and sell popcorn, hot cocoa, and lemonade during the Celebration, with all proceeds benefiting future programs via the Friends of Schmeeckle Reserve. Should be comfortable with crowds and serving food and beverage. Dress for the weather.
