PCT Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol Auditions Signups
Payson Community Theatre is proud to produce ‘Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol’ with Director Emma Black. The play will run November 27 - December 5, 2026.
CALLBACKS will be held—by invitation only—on Saturday, October 3, from 9am - 3pm at Payson High School Drama Room: 271 W. 800 S., Payson, UT 84651.
REHEARSALS will begin the week of October 5, and will generally be held Mondays - Thursdays evenings with some Saturdays and a couple Fridays added closer to Opening Night. A more detailed schedule will be provided once casting is final.

Note: If a role description lists two or more characters, it means those roles will likely be performed by the same actor in the production.

What to Prepare
1 - Please prepare a 30 - 60 second monologue in the style of the show, performed in a standard British accent.
2 - If the role you’re auditioning for mentions a singing requirement in the description, choose a carol from the following list and come prepared to sing the first verse and chorus—a cappella, and in a key of your choice: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing | O Come, All Ye Faithful | Silent Night | God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
3 - If you are unable to attend in-person auditions, please submit a video of yourself performing your monologue. In the same video submission, if your desired role requires it, please include your a cappella singing of one of the aforementioned carols. Submit the video via email to [email protected].
4 - Callbacks only: If the role you’re auditioning for mentions a basic partner dancing requirement, be ready to learn a simple partner dance sequence at callbacks. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
Synopsis
In Victorian London, miserly and cold-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge is visited on Christmas Eve by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, who warns him to change his ways or suffer a dreadful fate. That night, Scrooge goes on a journey through time with three spirits—the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come—each revealing truths about his life, choices, and legacy. As he witnesses the joy and goodness of those who embody the true spirit of Christmas—as well as the suffering he’s caused, and may yet cause—Scrooge’s heart begins to change. By dawn, he fully embraces compassion and reclaims the Christmas spirit he once knew.
