How to Hide an Option (Cmd+H Shortcut)
Learn how to hide form options from your respond page using the Cmd+H (or Ctrl+H) keyboard shortcut while still tracking responses.
You can hide specific options from appearing on your form's respond page using a keyboard shortcut while editing. Hidden options won't be visible to people filling out your form, but you can still see all responses in your admin dashboard.
Using the Hide Shortcut
Step 1
Go to the Edit page for your form and find the option you want to hide.
Step 2
Click on the option text field to focus it (your cursor should be in the option's text input).
Step 3
Press Cmd+H (Mac) or Ctrl+H (Windows/Linux) to hide the option.
A small eye-slash icon will appear in the option field indicating it's hidden from the respond page.
Step 4
To unhide an option, focus the option field and press Cmd+H again. The eye-slash icon will disappear.
What Gets Hidden
When you hide an option:
- It won't appear in the option list on your form's respond page
- It won't show in public response summaries
- Response counts will exclude responses to this hidden option
- It won't appear in embedded forms
Important: You will still see all responses to hidden options in your admin dashboard and response exports. This feature only hides options from people filling out your form.
Common Use Cases
- Draft Options: Prepare options you're planning to add later without showing them yet
- Past Events: Hide outdated time slots while preserving existing responses
- General Cleanup: Temporarily hide an option without deleting it (deleting would orphan existing responses)
Tips
- The eye-slash icon only appears in the form editor, not on the public respond page
- You can hide and unhide options at any time without affecting existing responses
- Make sure to save your form after hiding options for changes to take effect
Pro tip: This feature works great for managing internal options or creating "members-only" signup slots without cluttering your public form.
