How to Hide the Add Note Button on the Thank You Page

Learn how to disable the Add Note button that appears on the thank you page after respondents submit, so they cannot leave notes on their responses.

Hide the Add Note Button on the Thank You Page

After someone submits a response to your form, they see a thank you page with an Add a Note button. This lets respondents send you a short message (up to 500 characters) about their response. If you don't want respondents to be able to leave notes, you can hide this button.

Step 1: Go to your form's Options page

From your Dashboard, find the form you want to update. On the form's card, click the Options button to go to the form's settings page.

Step 2: Find the Creator Preferences section

On the Options page, scroll down to the Form Settings card. Inside that card, look for the subsection labeled CREATOR PREFERENCES (shown in small uppercase gray text). This section contains several toggle switches for things like Hide Grasshopper Header, Require Unique Email Addresses, and Lock Responses.

Step 3: Toggle on "Disable Add Note"

In the Creator Preferences section, find the toggle labeled Disable Add Note with the description "Hide the Add Note button on the thank you page." Flip the toggle switch to the on position. The setting saves automatically.

What changes

  • The Add a Note button will no longer appear on the thank you page after someone submits a response.
  • If someone tries to submit a note through other means, it will be blocked on the server as well.
  • To re-enable notes later, return to the same toggle and switch it off.
