OPEN THE SETUP PAGE
Step 1: Go to your form's settings page
From your Dashboard, click Options on the form card. This opens the form success (settings) page.
Step 2: Find the After-Event Messages card
Scroll to the Form Settings area and find the After-Event Messages card. Click Setup (or Edit if you've configured it before).
Free users see an Upgrade button instead. Upgrade to Boost to unlock after-event messaging.
PICK WHEN THE MESSAGE SENDS
The setup page gives you two timing modes.
Option A: After each selected option ends
Select After each selected option ends, then pick a delay from the dropdown: right when each option ends, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour (default), 2, 3, 4, 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours after.
The table below lists every option on your form. Options that have a date, start time, and duration set are eligible and get a checkbox. Check the ones you want the message sent for. The Sends column updates live to show when each message will actually go out in your local timezone.
Options missing any timing field are greyed out with a "missing [field]" note and a link to edit the form. You can still use the other timing option below if none of your options have full timing.
Option B: At a specific time
Select At a specific time, then pick a single date and time. Respondents get one email at that moment. People signed up for multiple options get one email listing all of them.
The send time has to be at least 1 hour from now.
WRITE YOUR MESSAGE AND PREVIEW
Step 1: (Optional) Add a subject line
The Subject line field lets you override the default subject. Leave blank to use "Thanks for participating: [your form title]". The subject also appears as the heading inside the email.
Step 2: Write the message body
Type your message in the Your message textarea (up to 2000 characters). This is the main content of the email: your thank-you, feedback link, photo album URL, etc. URLs become clickable links automatically.
Step 3: Send a test to yourself
Under Preview the email, enter your own email and click Send Test Email. The test email looks exactly like what your respondents will receive.
Step 4: Click Save
Click Save. You'll see a confirmation showing how many messages were scheduled. The Turn Off button now appears next to Save.
EDIT OR TURN OFF AFTER-EVENT MESSAGES
Step 1: Reopen the setup page
On the form settings page, the After-Event Messages card now shows an Active badge and a summary of the current schedule (e.g. "Sends 1h after each option ends"). Click Edit.
Step 2: Change settings and save, or turn off
Adjust anything (timing mode, which options, subject, message) and click Save. Prior scheduled messages are replaced with the updated ones.
To cancel entirely, click Turn Off. All pending after-event messages for this form are cancelled immediately.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Recipients are chosen at send time, not at setup. The email goes to whoever is signed up for the option(s) at the moment the message fires. If someone cancels or joins between setup and send, the final recipient list reflects that.
- Waitlisted respondents are excluded. Only confirmed signups get the after-event email.
- Email only. After-event messages are email-only. There is no SMS option.
- One email per respondent, in bundled mode. In At a specific time mode, people who signed up for multiple options get a single email listing all of them, not one email per option.
- Per-option mode needs timing info. Options without a date, start time, and duration can't be used for per-option sends. Add timing on the form editor, or switch to At a specific time mode.
- Send timing is approximate. Our system checks for due messages several times an hour, so your message may go out up to 10 minutes before the time you configured. It will never be more than a few minutes late.
